First Scout Master
Thomas Beattie was an Anglican vicar. He arrived in Rhodesia in 1910 from London. He worked in Bulawayo and while there he founded the 1st scout troop only 2 years after Baden-Powell formed the first troops in England .
In 1930 he left Rhodesia and died in Pietermaritzburg in 1960.
